Nosferatu- Run from the Sun – 7/10

nosferatu- run from the sun

Nosferatu- Run from the Sun is an endless running platform game that is free in the App Store.  It puts you into the role of a vampire running from the threat of daylight.  Unlike other popular runners such as Temple Run, Nosferatu has just one dimension.  Your only button is the press-anywhere jump button and the goal is to jump across each platform on to the next one.  You may double-jump at any time by  jumping while in the air.  Every once in a while you become a bat for a few seconds where the controls switch to an up and down slide.  Your job is to collect as many coins as possible without crashing into flying objects.  I should stress that this is pretty rare and in my opinion, this game could use more variation.  It really doesn’t get any more complicated than that.  You can collect coins during the whole run for use in the shop (which is a bit pricy) where you can buy power-ups and other Nosferatu-themed characters to use.  A huge problem is that there is really only one level.  There is no progression besides getting faster as you go along, and the game is basically the same thing over and over and over again (until that rare bat mode).  This game does support a multiplayer feature, which I do not find as fun as the single player.  You basically just play a single player run and then once everyone in your party has played their run, you see how all the people stacked up.  Although the basic idea is pretty unoriginal, Nosferatu- Run from the Sun adds a nice plot/theme, and is surprisingly fun for something so simple.  As per usual with the free games, the ads are a bit annoying, especially since they are pop-up windows where you must click the dismiss button.  That’s about all there is to say about Nosferatu- Run from the Sun; pretty fun, free, and extremely redundant.  7/10!
