iCopter Classic – 7/10

icopter classic

iCopter Classic is your classic helicopter game that I’m sure you’ve played at some point.  There is just one control: tap to go upward, let go to float downward.  Avoid the random floating bars that act as obstacles and don’t hit the top or bottom of the “cave.”  A simple classic.  This free rendition does the helicopter game justice and more.  But due to instability and crashes, there’s still room for improvement.  iCopter Classic gives you four game modes.  There’s the “classic” mode, which is pretty much exactly as explained above.  Then you have “fun” mode, which adds in the coin collecting experience and two power-ups (one to temporarily remove obstacles and one to temporarily make the cave smooth).  Coins can be used in the small store that offers a purchasable pause button, some cool themes, an extra life, upgrades to power-ups, and that’s about it.  The prices aren’t wild, but you better play a lot and get a bunch of coins if you would like to buy.  Next there is “two player” mode which, you guessed it, allows you to play split screen with a buddy.  It’s a great feature to have.  Lastly, there is “BlueTooth” mode, which (you guessed it again!) lets you play against a buddy who is using a different device.  I know this will sound bad but I can’t say I’ve ever tried the BlueTooth mode, so I don’t know if it works or not.  If I had to guess I’d say it would be a bit spotty but alright in the end.  Sorry about that.  Over all though, iCopter Classic is a free bargain, and if you have ever played the classic helicopter game then this is a nice take on it to have around on your iDevice.  7/10!
