Backup Assistant is an app for Verizon Wireless users to help backup your contacts in case you lose them or need to transfer phones. This app has come a long way, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. Backup Assistant will remind you to open it up and upload you contacts with the cloud however often you choose (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.). It’s a really simple app to figure out. There’s just about one thing you can press (besides the reminder setting), and that’s the “Sync Now” button in case you ever feel overly zealous and would like to sync contacts on your demand. The newest version allows you to sync via WiFi. Previously, you had to switch off WiFi and just go through your Verizon service. The first backup takes a while, but thereafter it just takes a few seconds, unless you constantly update all of your contacts. I have never had any trouble with transfers or backups, however I know of many disgruntled people who experienced duplicates or erases. I don’t know what to make of this, so I leave it open to you. Also, a nice feature that I would like to see soon is the option to select which contacts to backup or transfer. I think this would help to ameliorate some of the issues that people have. But from my experience, I have never had an issue with Backup Assistant. 7/10!
